Lost Souls Update: A New Chapter Begins
Note: This is a comprehensive update. Moving forward, all official announcements—including changes to structure, rules, plans, and future initiatives will be posted here on the Lost Soul News page. Be sure to check back regularly.
The Lost Souls movement is evolving and it’s time to bring everyone up to speed.
What started as a digital refuge for the weird and like-minded has grown into something far more impactful. Behind the scenes, we’ve been building, refining, and preparing to take this vision beyond the screen. What was once just community is now becoming infrastructure.
This isn’t a sudden pivot. It’s a direction Damiix has long envisioned, shaped through extensive dialogue with Mycelium and Psychotic, and grounded in our shared belief that Lost Souls has the potential to be more; more connected, more intentional, more real.
Introducing the Lost Souls Foundation
We’ve officially launched the Lost Souls Foundation a nonprofit organization created to give structure to the deeper mission that’s been at the heart of this community from the beginning. It represents the next stage in our evolution: mission-driven, purpose-led, and built for impact.
The Foundation is made up of four core divisions:
LSOC (Lost Souls Online Community) – Our 24/7 digital sanctuary for connection, conversation, collaboration, and support.
Appalachian Guard – Our real-world response unit, focused on disaster relief, mental wellness, and workforce development.
Lost Souls Academy (in development) – A future-forward platform for peer-led learning, personal growth, and skill-building.
Soul Works Ministry (potential future division) – An optional spiritual arm for healing, faith-based outreach, and deeper personal reflection.
Each division serves a unique role while working in unity to advance the broader mission of Lost Souls.
To support this structure, we’ve launched the following platforms:
LostSouls.info – The central hub for community information and initiatives.
AppalachianGuard.org – A public-facing platform for our field operations and service programs.
LostSoulsFoundation.org – (Coming soon) A full overview of the nonprofit’s mission, divisions, and ways to get involved.
The Evolution of LSOC
To meet the demands of our expanding mission, LSOC is undergoing a major transformation. This update brings greater organization, clearer expectations, and more purposeful engagement. This is no longer just a space to hang out it’s a space to grow, lead, and build.
Coming soon:
An updated rank and role structure
Events around gaming and other things.
Direct pipelines between LSOC and our real-world impact efforts
Enhanced systems for support, study groups, and collaboration
Looking to the Future
As the vision continues to expand, so does our commitment to forging meaningful spaces both online and off. The Lost Souls Foundation exists to turn this vision into a living movement that’s grounded, impactful, and resilient.
We are also in the early planning stages of a Game Development Division, an initiative aimed at creating original, immersive experiences built by the community.
We will be trying to update this blog regularly. Weekly - Semi-Weekly.
Why We Changed Our Name - Appalachian Guard. -LSGU-
Appalachian Guard was originally known as LSGU – Lost Souls Guard Unit. The name reflected our roots in the Lost Souls community and our mission to serve, protect, and uplift those who felt forgotten.
But as we grew and began serving broader communities across the Appalachian region, we realized the need for a name that felt more welcoming, more approachable, and easier to understand for those unfamiliar with our origins.
Appalachian Guard captures the heart of what we do standing guard for those in crisis, protecting what matters, and offering hope where it's needed most. The new name honors the region we serve while making our mission more accessible to everyone.
Same mission. New name. Bigger impact.
